Headlines

Welcome

The Buena Vista Group holds monthly meetings in Bakersfield.

For more information, contact Donnel Lester, Membership Chair.

This group serves the Southern San Joaquin Valley, Kern Valley, and Tehachapi areas. Centered in Bakersfield we are committed to providing quality education, outings, and conservation within our service area.

Programs

Sierra Club members and the public are invited to our first Saturday of the month Breakfast Programs. We meet at 10:00 a.m. at El Camino Real Restaurant, 3500 Truxtun Ave, just west of Oak St. @ Westwind Dr. in Bakersfield.

Battery Recycling at BVG Meetings – We're not supposed to toss batteries in the garbage can anymore. So bring us your old batteries, lithium ion, nickel metal hydride, NiCad, small sealed lead-acid batteries and from cordless & cell phones, power tools, laptops -- even AAA’s to D’s.

Special Note: Environmental issues facing us are daunting. They are complex and difficult to comprehend. The Buena Vista Group, Sierra Club, endeavors to bring programs on first Saturdays about current environmental issues confronting our community. As members, please attend when you can. We need your support if we are to continue to have credible community leaders speak to us.

Meeting Notices—If you would like to receive Buena Vista Group meeting and activity notices by email, please contact Donnel Lester, with Add me to the email list. You can opt out of the email notices at any time. We try to limit this to once-a-month emails.
